The initial consultation is an important and valuable service. We consider the consultation as the crucial first step towards proper planning for a favorable resolution to your family law matter. We explain the laws and procedures that are fundamental to your case and help you develop a strategy. A typical consultation will last for an hour to an hour and a half, and we charge a flat fee of $400.00 for an initial consultation.

Our Fees
Once we begin our representation, we charge hourly rates which vary among our personnel. Currently, paralegals’ rates start at $150.00 per hour and lawyers’ rates range from $375.00 to $415.00 per hour.
The Retainer
We require an initial retainer and a signed fee contract prior to the commencement of representation. The initial retainer depends on the case, but usually ranges from $5,000.00 to $10,000.00. We then bill our time against that retainer. We may require an additional retainer if it appears that the case has become more time consuming than initially anticipated, and the retainer is close to being depleted. Where it is appropriate, we will seek to have the other party reimburse you for your attorneys’ fees.
